Yong (Daniel) Shen
Research Assistant
Born in China, Daniel moved to Toronto about 10 years ago. In May of 2019, he finished his undergraduate degree in Human Developmental and Regenerative Biology at Harvard College, with a minor in Classics. His experiences as a volunteer in hospitals and in Nicaragua made him interested in health systems and health policy. Daniel is interested in exploring further the intersection between the environment, health, and policy and is a member of the International Society for Evolution, Medicine, and Public Health. Furthermore, having grown up exposed to both Traditional Chinese Medicine and biomedicine, Daniel is also intrigued by the cultural aspects of healthcare and the philosophies underlying diverse health knowledge systems and perspectives on wellbeing. In his free time, Daniel loves to explore the outdoors with his trusty camera, catch sunsets and stargaze, drink tea, and craft the most perfect cocktail.
